Poppies (French: Coquelicots) is the title of a painting by Claude Monet. He painted it in 1873 and exhibited it a year later at the first Impressionist exhibition in Nadar's studio. Today it is considered one of Monet's best known works. It has been owned by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris since 1986.

Probably on Poppies Monet depicted his wife and son in the foreground, in the middle of a field of poppies. The red brushstrokes of the flowers contrast beautifully with the green of the other vegetation. The boy holds a bouquet of poppies in his hand, the woman a parasol. On top of a small elevation are another mother and her child. It is certainly not a true-to-life image, the red dots in the foreground are far too large for that. The painter is primarily concerned with the visual impression of a summer walk in the open field.
